Algeria Spicy, nutritious, and cheap ! Perfect for starving crowd or when you have many guests !
Ingredients :
1 kg white beans
500 g potatoes (optional)
1 big tomato
1 garlic (or garlic powder)
1 dried deseeded chili
cooking oil, salt, red pepper
1 level tsp of Cumin,
fresh cilantro
Recipe of white beans with red sauce :
Soak beans one night before in a large amount of water
Crush garlic, cumin, chili, red pepper and salt and dilute the mix in a cup of water
In a big pan fry the deseeded sliced tomato with cooking oil
Add water to the crushed ingredients
As soon as it begins to boil, add beans and cover with a finger of water, and let cook
When the beans are half-cooked, add potatoes cut into quarters and continue cooking
Before serving, decorate with fresh chopped cilantro.
