Japan Popular drink in Japan. Calpis is essentialy composed of water, milk powder and lactic ferments. Its slightly sour and lactic taste reminds of the taste of a sweet yogurt diluted in water. This (very expensive) drink is often sold concentrate forms to dilute before consumption in japanese drugstores. Some pre-diluated versions are sold under the generic term of Calpis water and Calpis soda for the soda version. Calpis is also used as a syrup to aromatize Kakigoris. (wikipedia)
